Fraport Brasil Celebrates 9 Years of History and Expands Its Presence in the Country

Starting in September, the concessionaire will officially take over Brazil’s third-largest airport

This Saturday (August 29), Fraport Brasil celebrates 9 years of history, marking the occasion with a new chapter in its journey: the opening of its third airport in the country. Starting September 1, it will officially take over management of the Jericoacoara Regional Airport – Comandante Ariston Pessoa, in Ceará.

This new operation joins the airports in Fortaleza and Porto Alegre, which the concessionaire has managed since 2017.

This new milestone represents a landmark in the history of the company, which is expanding its operations in Brazilian airport infrastructure.

“Since its arrival in Brazil, Fraport has sought to contribute to the development of infrastructure, aviation, and tourism in the country. Throughout this journey, we have built a history marked by major transformations, challenges, and achievements. Now, we are celebrating this anniversary with a new chapter, marked by the addition of Jeri Airport,” notes CEO Andreea Pal.

Progress

Fraport Brasil officially took on the mission of transforming the airports in Porto Alegre and Fortaleza in 2017. Since then, more than R$3.6 billion has been invested in infrastructure and technology improvements, always with a focus on operational efficiency, safety, and passenger comfort.

Major structural projects have been completed, such as the expansion and modernization of the passenger terminals, the extension of the runway in Porto Alegre, and the expansion of the aircraft apron in Fortaleza. These advancements have increased service capacity, improved service quality, and strengthened the airports’ connections to Ceará, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, and the world.<span mso-ascii-font-family:aptos;mso-hansi-font-family:aptos;mso-bidi-font-family:="" aptos'="" style="font-family: ">

To the employees, strategic partners, supporters, and aviation industry officials who were part of this journey, we extend our heartfelt thanks.
